A Bible Timeline Presents A Graphical Representation To Help Teach Bible Events And Characters And Facts

Regrettably, a many Pastors and Bible teachers in our churches go on and preach superficial, shallow, light weight, flimsy messages and their Church members scarcely grow in Bible knowledge and understanding. Preachers love to preach'moral essays' and'warming affirmations' because supposedly, if we love our people this is what we will do. Regrettable it seems, if God's men and women are falling through the cracks'for a lack of knowledge' so long as we are nice and loving to all. In reality, the more like our world, the less relevant we are to our world.
Some years ago, I was preaching on the burial, life, resurrection and death of Jesus, and a retired pastor and strong preacher of the Gospel, who had been a pastor for forty years, came up and reproved me smartly over some interesting points I made and he remarked 1Ti 1:4'Neither give heed to fables and endless genealogies, which minister questions, rather than godly edifying which is in faith: so do.' I quietly asked him if I had been saying anything of a heretical nature at all, to which he replied"No". I continued to describe that in the case of that particular Scripture, it was not referring to examining Scripture but to the false teaching and philosophy of the Gnostics, but he would not have it. So, how can a forty year minister & laborer in the Gospel, not understand and know about something that possibly 1/2 the books of the New Testament relate to?
How can he understand and teach the Bible fully without being familiar with something that was so influential in the New Testament church? And then how can the congregation hope to understand these things and be in a position to interpret their Bible properly, if they are not informed?
Let's us as tutors and preachers stitch together the aspects of the Bible and God's plan into a complete picture that our people are able to draw on for the rest of their lives, to help them to understand God, His Eternal Plan, the role of the Church and how to better translate the Bible to live by.
It is not hard to do, and it is not boring if we are ready to put in a bit of effort prayer and fervor, and just maybe you can employ a Bible Timeline too.
